We went to the California Bonsai Society 50th show at the Huntington Library this past weekend. (Photos from the show) And then came home and cracked out on repotting 4 of our own trees which took half of a day. Not bad really, considering we had 2 extra set’s of hands to help out with the root cleaning and soil mixing.
I hadn’t cared for any plants in more than 20 years and it’s been a really big learning process getting back into taking care of something that can’t care for it’s self. At least with pets you can set out a bowl of food and water and they’ll go eat when they are hungry. But these plants have almost no water holding soil content because if they hold the water to much then the roots will rott, so I’m wattering them constantly and checking moisture levels.
Here are some photos from the show:
Anyway. Back to work.
