The death of Osama is inescapable in the media recently. With all the news and web coverage and information/disinformation surrounding the assignation / murder / death / 187 of Osama bin Laden, I couldn’t help myself and finally decided to throw something out there and see how people respond to it.
Here is a brief description of how I arrived at this representation. The typography cloud was derived from Osama’s Biography at Biography.com. The text was analyzed for repeating words and then the type was scaled according to how frequently those words occurred. A poorly made computerized portrait made by some person and a ‘Make Art’ plug-in was overlaid on top of the word cloud. I was unable to locate the author of the watermarked image of Osama which I collected from ARTgazine.com.
